Street Lights

I know Kanye West is a jerk right now, and I completely agree that he was beyond rude at the VMAs. That being said, Street Lights came up on my shuffle today and I forgot how much I really like this song. The lyrics are pretty great...

seems like street lights glowing happened to be

just like moments passing, in front of me.

so i hopped in the cab and i payed my fair,

see i know my destination but i'm just not there.

Thanks for the Beats

Like so many people, I am extremely sad to hear about the death of DJ AM.

I first saw DJ AM at Rain in Vegas on a reunion trip with my college friends. Literally five minutes into the set we were all obsessed.
I’ll never forget all of us dancing on top of the booth yelling to each other “HE'S THE BEST DJ EVERRRR!” It was just one of those irreplacable nights.
I saw him again less than two weeks ago at Sutra with a bunch of friends, most of whom were AM newbies. And again, everyone had the greatest time. We all pushed our way to the very front and danced for two hours straight. AM even blew us kisses when we waved goodbye. So so so amazing.

DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) touched a lot of people’s lives, and not just when he was spinning.
My friends and I may not have known him, but we sure loved him as our favorite DJ.

Close up at Sutra

I heart Jose

Jose Gonzalez
is one of my favorite musicians.
His music is so peaceful and i love the acoustic guitar mixed with his melodies.

I first heard Jose's music on a Sony Bravia commercial a few years back. It's the coolest video- I love all the bouncy balls! Such an awesome idea.
Check check check ch-check it out.

The Get Go

Right now I cannot stop listening to New Young Pony Club. Their CD 'Fantastic Playroom' is beyond fantastic. I listen all day every day. Some of my favs from their newest CD are Tight Fit, The Get Go and Ice Cream. But honestly, the entire album is amazing. I don't like comparing artists, but NYPC fits perfectly into my 'Get It' playlist with some Sounds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MIA and the beloved Santogold. Listen to a few of their tracks and tell me you're not obsessed. It's just the kind of beat I'm into right now that sings with pure originality, and I cannot get enough.
